INGREDIENTS


  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons dill pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 pounds ground beef, 80/20
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 6 slices American cheese


INSTRUCTIONS


*Burger sauce is made by combining mayonnaise, ketchup, dill pickle relish, and Dijon in a small bowl.

*Combine the beef, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of pepper in a big bowl. Stir everything up thoroughly with a wooden spoon or with clean hands. Gently shape into six patties that are 1 inch thick and roughly the size of hamburger buns.

* Place a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and add the canola oil. Add the patties and cook for 3–5 minutes on each side, or until the desired doneness, until lightly charred; sprinkle with cheese.

* Immediately serve with BURGER SAUCE and any additional toppings of choice in hamburger buns.
